Pro Wrestling League 2017: Jaipur Ninjas bought Ritu Phogat

With the roaring success of Dangal, which has the plot of wrestling, the Pro Wrestling League 2017 from January 2 has become a big affair.
The Jaipur team of Pro Wrestling League 2017, Jaipur Ninjas has bought Ritu Phogat for its squad. The promising wrestler, Ritu Phogat surpassed her elder siblings, Geeta and Babita, to emerge as the most expensive Indian in the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) auctions. She has been bought by the Jaipur Ninjas for Rs.36 lakh. But she still considers Geeta and Babita her idols.
Ritu said, “Both of them were happy to see their younger sister striking a good deal. For me, there is no comparison with Geeta and Babita as I have always considered both as my idols,”

Ritu Phogat Family

Ritu Phogat hails from the family of wrestlers and is the daughter of former wrestler and coach, Mahavir Singh Phogat. Her elder sisters Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat are a big name in the wrestling field. Also, the recently released film, Dangal, which is based on their story has brought them a lot attention.

One of the six Phogat sisters, Ritu was also trained in wrestling in her home village of Balali in Bhiwani, Haryana, India, just like her other sisters Geeta, Babita, Priyanka, Vinesh and Sangita. The 6 girls have been brought up and trained by former wrestler and coach Mahavir Phogat, who is also the father of Geeta, Babita, Ritu and Sangita.
